The Nook Counseling Services, LLC provides clinical counseling for adults, children/adolescents, couples, and families experiencing distress that has affected their mental, emotional, and spiritual health and impacted the quality of their relationships and living.
The healing process is defined as 'making or becoming sound and/or healthy again.' Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. With a goal to help you grow from your struggles and move forward to where you want to be in life, you will receive professional guidance every step of your therapeutic journey.
The therapeutic experience is a learning process that teaches clients how to utilize their personal strengths to overcoming challenges causing distress in their daily living. An approach to this, is by providing a neutral safe place, actively listening to clients concerns, and customizing a treatment plan to provide a visual guide for achieving personal and relationship goals.
Anxiety, depression are some symptoms that can linger after experiencing a traumatic event or while trying to adjust to various circumstances, including death, relocation, job changes, etc. Through counseling treatment, you can recover motivation, a new perspective, and purpose to thrive in your life.
Participating in relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples/families seeking to strengthen their emotional connection with others. Therapy provides a supportive, neutral environment to initiate discussion about unresolved issues and develop healthy skills to better improve and strengthen your relationship
Taking the steps towards improvement requires courage to leave the familiar. You are encouraged to invest in yourself and begin the healing and learning process of becoming aware of your strengths in overcoming challenges that is impacting your quality of living.
For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of providing mental healthcare to youths, adults, and families in my local community in Mobile, Alabama and surrounding areas. Though life experiences and observations of such has been my primary educator, my clinical training include a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Mobile; professional licenses with the state of Alabama – Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), Board Certified Telemental Health Counselor (BC-TMH).
In addition to my education and training, I attribute my positions at various for and non-profit agencies to assisting me in honing my therapeutic skills with helping clients identify or rediscover their distinctive strengths in developing new ways of thinking, behaving, and relating to others to achieve a better quality of living.
